GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO DONATED A TOYOTA SIENNA TO THE APEX STUDENT BODY OF THE STATE.
The Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello again in his magnanimity, gifted the apex student body of the state a Sienna through the Office of his Chief of Staff, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku.
This was presented to the National President of the Association Comrade Rachael Mojirola Balogun, by the Special Adviser on Youth and Students matters to the governor, Hon Jubril Oludare Ahmadu along side the National President, National Youth Council Of Nigeria, Youth Ambassadors, stakeholders, Kogi state NYCN Chairman, Kogi state Nans JCC chairman and other student representatives, on the 2nd of November 2021.
It will be recalled that the Governor gave a twenty two (22) seaters luxurious bus to the Association in his first Tenure for easy mobility and effective representation of the students across board.
It is gratifying therefore, that in Nigeria, which ranks as the country with the highest number of school-aged children who are out of school, a state governor decided from the first day in office to give priority attention to deliver the dividends of democracy through quality education mantra, students welfarism, whose actions inculcate patriotism into young people on a daily basis across the federation.
This can be easily traced back to a wise word of the avatar, Nelson Mandela who stated that:
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.
And as Charles Rangel rightly noted:
“A quality education grants us the ability to fight the war on ignorance and poverty”.
A visionary and focused governor like Gov. Yahaya Bello will triggers waves of nostalgia sweeping the fecund mind with perfect pictures of innovative and impactful ideas brought to bear in the education sector and not limited to the students communities in history.
The special Adviser on Youth and Students affairs, Hon Jubril Oludare Ahmadu charges the student leaders on the need to uphold the voice of their followers by harnessing unto them what is required of their votes.
He appreciated the unique offerings and landmark achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello in the critical field of education that earned him a prestigious laurel all over the country as the youngest governor in Nigeria and these are not far-fetched from the innovative and impactful ideas Governor Yahaya Bello has brought to bear in the sector, such as renovation of schools and increase in students enrollment, proper funding of education sector (Allocation of 30% of the state Annual budget to the Education sector), many more to mention but a few.
The National President in Her Acceptance Speech appreciate the Almighty God for the gift of life and send her thumps-up and accolades to the state governor on behalf of the entire members of the association, she acknowledged Governor Yahaya Bello as the most student-friendly governor in Nigeria.
She attributed the unprecedented development in primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of education to the commitment of the governor to restore the lost glory of education in the State.
“We commend the courage, resilience, and doggedness of Governor Yahaya Bello in reviving the education sector of the state. The governor has shown to all the good people of the state that nothing is impossible to achieve if only one sets his mind to it”.
She reinstated the commitment of the Association in contributing their quota at every stratas and to also uphold the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria anywhere. And equally extends her gratitude to the office of the Senior special Assistant on students matters to the Governor, Hon Babangida Onimisi.
