Kwara: Two suspected cattle rustlers in NSCDC net

Two suspected cattle rustlers alleged to have been terrorising some communities in Kwara State have been arrested by the State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Spokesman of the state NSCDC, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Ilorin, added that one other member of the gang is still at large.

He said: “It will be recalled that on November 03, 2021 we got a report about one cattle rearer, Rawa Raura Muhammed who was attacked by three cattle rustlers. The rustlers are Abdullahi Ideh, Kadiri Babuga and Baba Sanda. They attacked the herdsman with dangerous weapons and left him unconscious before they made away with his three cows valued at 1.5 million naira.

“Fortunately, the Miyetti Allah Vigilante group and officers of the NSCDC in the locality were able to arrest two of the cattle rustlers while the third member of the gang is still at large.

“Two of the fleeing cattle rustlers were arrested along Ahun- Ilkerin Ayuba road by the Miyetti Allah Vigilante group with back up from officers of the NSCDC in Oro Ago Divisional office.”
