KOGI POLY MANAGEMENT CONGRATULATES THE NEWLY INAUGURATED GOVERNING COUNCIL …COMMENDS GOVERNOR ODODO’S CHOICE

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman has, on behalf of the Management, Academic Board, staff and students, congratulated the Chairman and members of the newly inaugurated 10th Governing Council of the institution.

He described the Council which was inaugurated on Thursday, 14th August, 2025 at the SGS Council Hall, Lokoja, as a remarkable choice by His Excellency, the Governor and Visitor to the institution.

He further described the appointment as a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to strengthening higher education in the State.

Members of 10th Council specifically congratulated by the Rector are:
Barr. Sani Shaibu – Chairman,
Dr. Emmanuel Abanida – Member,
Dr. Muhammed Salihu – Member,
Mr. Rufai Malik Adeiza – Member,
Mr. Emmanuel Ileanwa Ocheni – Member, and
Mr. Obanewo Titus Femi – Member.

The Rector expressed the confidence that the Council would work hard to add value to the institution in collaboration with the Management team.

Prof. Usman, appreciated His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the quality of men appointed, describing it as timely and strategic.

He further noted that the Governor has carefully selected personalities that possess the competence and integrity to steer the affairs of the institution.

He described the Council Chairman, Barr. Sanni Shaibu, as not just a friend but also a brother, stressing that the Governor’s wise choice is an assurance that the Polytechnic would “fly higher.”

He added that Kogi State Polytechnic had grown into a cosmopolitan citadel of learning where every state of the federation is represented through students admission.

He expressed the determination of the administration to continue to uphold standards, discipline and quality assurance.

The Rector prayed for a successful tenure for the Governing Council, and reaffirmed the Institution’s commitment to working harmoniously with it in the collective drive to sustain academic excellence.
