The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ibaji State Constituency,
Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, has been honoured with an “Award of Excellence” by the Department of English and Literary Studies, Federal University Lokoja, in collaboration with Pad for the Girl Child Menstrual Hygiene Initiative.
The recognition was conferred in acknowledgment of the Deputy Speaker’s tireless dedication and unwavering commitment to championing the rights of women and girls, as well as her outstanding efforts in amplifying their voices within society.
In her remarks, she thanked the women of the institution, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, and the university management, while urging young women to embrace leadership, dream big, and never let others’ expectations hold them back.
“There is no limit to what women or girls can accomplish. Leadership is about taking action, creating connections, and demanding what rightfully belongs to you,” she said.
This honour further underscores the Deputy Speaker’s leadership, advocacy, and service, both within and beyond the legislature.
