Ododo lauds Gov Bello’s achievements in education sector
… Calls for employment of more teachers
The Chairman ,Kogi State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Moses Ododo has commended the remarkable achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello in the Education sector, calling for an urgent recruitment of teachers to fill the inadequate staff deficit at the primary and secondary school levels.
The Chairman gave the commendation while speaking at the Public Hearing for Ministry of Education, Science and Technology as well as State Owned Tertiary Institutions and Agencies under the Ministry at the Assembly Complex, Lokoja.
According to Mr. Ododo, the need to engage teachers at the secondary school in particular cannot be overemphasized as the state is in dare need of teachers.
He however described the ongoing transformation at the 2 State owned Universities, Kogi State Polytechnic, Colleges of Education Ankpa and that of Technical Kabba as eventful.
The Lawmaker commended the MDAs in the Education sector for their excellent performance in revenue generation, urging them to do more in the next fiscal year.
Mr. Ododo maintained that the Assembly will continue to partner with the State Government in meeting set goals that will enhance the growth of Education in the state.
He commended Governor Bello for giving attention to Education which according to him is the bedrock of any society, adding that with the increased budgetary allocation to the sector, the State will get things right.
