

Kogi ICDA disassociate self from purported inauguration of fake Executive
The Kogi State Chapter of Igala Cultural and Development Association, (ICDA) has reechoed the position of the National body by disassociating it’s self from the purported inauguration of a new executive by the erstwhile President Sadiq Amodu Abubakar.
In a statement signed by the State Chairman of ICDA Godwin Idakwo and Secretary Inah Husseni Isaac respectively on Sunday noted that, the leadership of ICDA in Kogi State has sited a document circulating on social media by one faceless Comrade Ismail Yahaya Imam Okoliko, of a purported inauguration of an ICDA National Executive Committee.
It was gathered that the purported inauguration of the new national executive is scheduled to take place on 27th December, 2021 at the Igala Unity House, Anyigba.
The faceless group which it was learnt to be inaugurating the fake executive according to the statement invited the leadership of all State chapters and their branches to attend the event.
Reacting to this development, the Kogi State Chairman of ICDA Godwin Idakwo and Secretary Inah Husseni Isaac while
disassociating the organization from the alleged illegal inauguration admonished the general public not to fall prey to some fraudulent individuals who are carrying out activities for their own selfish interest.
They directed their local branches and members to distance themselves from the said exercise stressing that, the Chapter had never been part nor notified of any election nor emergence of any National Executive leadership through constitutional means.
According to the statement, ” A correspondence from the Attah Igala Palace ref. ITC/236/VOL.IV/18 of 26th November, 2021 by his Royal Majesty, Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa II, the Attah Igala and Chairman Igala Area Traditional Council sustained the dissolution of the National Executive Committee of the ICDA until further directive from the palace.
” The Kogi State Chapter is not privy to the establishment of any North Central zonal coordinator, nor has it any office similar to same in the subsisting constitution of the body, talk more of the faceless comrade signing off for the inauguration.
“The Kogi State chapter holds in high esteem the custom and tradition of the Igala people cum the sanctity of the stool of the Atta Igala and directives from same. On this note we do not only disassociate ourselves but wish to warn this mischief makers to desist forthwith form this ignoble part”.
The statement admonished all State Chapters and their leadership to rise against this form of desecration of their holy places by some of this desperate individuals.
