The Kwara State Hospitals Management Board (KW-HMB) has reopened three services at the Specialist Hospital, Sobi, Ilorin, to improve the quality of healthcare for residents of the state.
The Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, disclosed this during a routine monitoring visit to the Specialist Hospital in Ilorin recently.
Dr. Malik highlighted that the new maternity ward will accommodate more deliveries and provide greater comfort for expectant mothers.
He noted that the maternity facility now features additional delivery suites for VIPs and extra couches compared to before.
He stated that the main theatre, which has been closed since the outbreak of COVID-19, will be reopened for various medical procedures. “This will be a significant milestone in healthcare service delivery under this administration,” Dr. Malik emphasised.
The Executive Secretary further mentioned that the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), which has been equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, will make use of the newly recruited nurses posted to the facility for quality service delivery.
Dr. Malik assured the general public of the continued commitment of this administration to deliver quality healthcare services in the state.
