

Kwara: Towoju promises enhanced projection of government’s activities

The new Commissioner for Communications in Kwara State, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has stated that he would ensure that policies and programmes of government are better projected under his watch.
Towoju stated this on Monday at the handing over of the reins of the Ministry to him by the former Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh, who was reassigned to the Ministry of Environment.
He disclosed that the state government is working towards removing all impediments hindering effective performance by the Press Secretaries in the dissemination of government policies and programmes.
The Commissioner, who promised to liaise with other members of the State Executive Council in order to ensure that Press Secretaries are given enabling environment to discharge their official responsibilities, charged the Management and Staff of the Ministry to remain apolitical so that their loyalty would be steadfast.
Earlier, former Commissioner for Communications Hon. Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh, had noted that the state government has remained committed to the revitalisation of agencies under the Ministry, charging the staff to extend the same hands of cooperation to the new Commissioner in promoting the state government’s policies and programmes.
In a similar development, the Obajisun of Ayedun, Oba Oluwasegun Rotimi Abayo, has paid a courtesy visit to the new Commissioner of Communications, Mr Olabode George Towoju, to felicitate with him on his appointment by the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq and prayed for God’s guidance for him in steering the affairs of the Ministry.
Responding, Towoju appreciated the monarch and disclosed that the last time Ayedun, in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of the State last had a Commissioner was in 1972, thanking the Governor for the opportunity to serve the State.
