A former chairman of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission,
(DESOPADEC), Michael Diden has emerged as the Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Delta South Senatorial District of Delta State.
Diden, a former member of Delta State House of Assembly and commonly called Ejele emerged victorious over other contestants, including Senator Joel Onowakpo,
With the victory at the senatorial primary election, the APC senatorial candidate will now slug it out with candidates of other political parties in the forthcoming general elections in 2027.
Meanwhile, the politician cum philanthropist, has thanked members and leaders of the APC for their massive support in his emergence as candidate of the party in the 2027 Delta South senatorial district election.
Reacting in Abuja on Wednesday, Ejele particularly thanked President Bola Tinubu, for creating a level play ground and creating a conducive and peaceful atmosphere during the conduct of the primary election across the wards and local government areas within the Delta South senatorial district.
In his official reaction, the former chairman of DESOPADEC and former member Delta State House of Assembly, promised his constituency of adequate and rewarding representation when finally elected in the 2027 senatorial election.
He promised to initiate bills that will impact upon the lives of the masses of Delta South and Nigeria, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and make life more comfortable for the downtrodden masses through good governance.
While observing that the senatorial district produces the highest crude oil in the state, Ejele assured that he would partner with his colleagues and the executive arm to provide infrastructures commiserate with what the region produces.
Meanwhile, he has called on his fellow contestant, Senator Joel Onowakpo, to team up with him in ensuring that the Delta South senatorial district continues to enjoy the dividends of democracy, adding that his doors and ears are wide open for advice and counsel that would guarantee the growth and prosperity of the district and Delta State in general.
Acknowledging the massive support from members of the party in ensuring his victory at the primary, Ejele appealed to them not to go to sleep, but double efforts in ensuring that he and all the other candidates of the APC emerge victorious in the general elections.
