The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and Member Representing Ibaji State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, who passed away at the age of 77.
The former Governor, who served as Governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2012, was a prominent figure in the political and developmental history of the state.
Rt. Hon. Comfort Egwaba described his death as a painful loss to his family, Kogi State and Nigeria at large, noting that his years of public service formed an important chapter in the history of the state.
She extended her heartfelt condolences to the Idris family, friends, political associates and the people of Kogi State, praying that Almighty Allah grants the deceased eternal rest and gives the family the strength to bear the loss.
“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and grant his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
