Cadet T. A. Alalade has made Kwara State proud by emerging as the third-best cadet among 183 officers commissioned into the Nigerian Army under Course 29/26 Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC).

Alalade, from Ilemona in the Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, received the Presidential Award (Bronze) for her outstanding performance during the training and commissioning programme at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Jaji, Kaduna State.

Her achievement came as she was commissioned into the rank of Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army, following the successful completion of her military training. Her emergence among the top three cadets in a cohort of 183 has been described as a remarkable accomplishment and a source of pride to her family, community and Kwara State.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Friday, September 25, 2026, featured the Piping and Presidential Commissioning and formally marked the induction of the newly trained officers into the Nigerian Army as commissioned officers.

Lieutenant T. A. Alalade is the daughter of Hon. Muideen Alalade, a former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Land and Housing, and Energy in Kwara State.

Her Presidential Award and commissioning have attracted congratulations from family members, friends and well-wishers, who celebrated the young officer for her discipline, dedication and outstanding performance.

The achievement is also regarded as a proud moment for the Alalade family and the people of Kwara State, as Lieutenant Alalade begins her career in the Nigerian Army with the distinction of being recognised among the best-performing cadets in her set.
