A foremost Sociocultural association in Kogi State, De-Greater Height Club Lokoja sue for peace and tranquility in Ebiraland ahead of 2027 General elections.
Making the plea through a press statement signed by the President and Publicity Secretary of the Association, Alhaji Ibrahim Isa-Amoka and Comr.Counsel Bello Omeiza respectively, appealed to the political gladiators to conduct their political activities with utmost civility,decorum, maturity and respect to the individual choices of candidates.
The Association urged the politicians and their followers to eschew politics of bitterness and embrace that of centripetal philosophy of Late political icon, Ibrahim Waziri’s ‘ Politics of Brotherhood ‘.
They specifically called on the youths of Ebiraland to always calculate their movement
towards positivity that will benefit them now and in future than to be used and dump later,”you are the future of our tomorrow, don’t allow them to use you as tools of violence, thuggery and agents of fatal destruction against the land. Don’t sell your for a peanut and a bottle of wine”, they warned.
They plead to the winners at the end of the election to be magnanimous in victory and the looser to be gracious in defeat in order for peace to reign and by extension to achieve the much desired progress and development of the land.
“Politics will come and go but Ebiraland remains. Let us not destroy our common heritage because of temporary political interest but to protect our respected age long values of our land such as respect, handwork, forthrightness and hospitality “, they advised.
