ALHAJI IBRAHIM MUHAMMAD YAHAYA SOKODEKE FELICITATES WITH CHRISTIAN BRETHREN ON THE EASTER CELEBRATION.
I join our Christian brothers and sisters in Niger state and across the world to celebrate the Easter festivities. This commemoration is a time for deep reflection as it marks the sacrifice and love of Jesus Christ,It is also a time for all of us regardless of faith, or ethnicity to come together to pray for the peace of our state. We must all remain constant in our efforts to promote unity across all lines
I also want to urge us to remain steadfast in prayers for victory over insecurity bedeviling our state and nation .while also remaining fervent in prayers for our economic prosperity.
This year’s celebration is very unique for adherents of the two great faiths in Nigeria. It culminates the 40-day season of Lent for Christians, where the faithful is expected to fast, pray, assist the poor, abhor injustice and strife, give alms, penitently engage in self-examination and repentance of sins. The similar values apply to the Muslim faithful, currently about half-way into the holy month of Ramadan.
It’s therefore my hope that this season will make a turning point in the lives of our people and the prosperity of our dear Niger state.
