RECAN Restates Commitment To Defend, Promote Children’s Rights

An NGO, the Rehoboth Community Advancement Initiative (RECAN), has reaffirmed its commitment to continue to work to defend, create enabling environment and promote the rights of children at all levels of their engagements.

The Executive Director of RECAN, Mr Nathaniel Abaniwo, gave the assurance on Friday in Lokoja, in his felicitation message to all Nigeria’s Children as part of activities to celebrate the Children’s National Day.

Abaniwo promised that RECAN would continue to strengthen and sustain their ongoing Advocacy/sensitization campaign to end violence against Children in Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

”Our role as an organization working with women and vulnerable children is to continue to intensify more commitments towards providing basic Education, Health, Shelter and Care, Nutrition, protection and Psychosocial support services to our vulnerable children. and Household Economic Strengthening to vulnerable households inline with the OVC National Service Standard,” he said.

He urged all the children to be law abiding and conduct themselves modestly in an attempt to exercise their Survival, Protection, Participation and Developmental Rights.

”We will continue to work to defend, create enabling environment and promote the rights of children at all levels of our engagements. Strengthen and sustain our ongoing Advocacy/sensitization campaign to end violence against Children in Kogi State and Nigeria at large,” he reiterated.
