Happy independence anniversary to the Nigerian who wanted a real democratic Nigeria where we all reason rationally and consider equity, justice and fairness as the key of the nation. What we celebrate is actually the labour and sacrifice of our past leaders who keep aside their geopolitical zones, tribalisms, religious nepotism and greed to put Nigeria in the orbit of human development. The way we operate our socio political system today wouldn’t have fetch us independence and exist as a nation. Our political structure is expected to generate a positive and enriching nation where we reason outside the box. What are we seeing today? Greediness, selfish political entity, corruption. It is painful after 62 years of our independence as a nation we are yet to stand on our feet and ensure that the country develop rightly and create path for the nation to grow socially, economically ,politically and culturally. That is just the driving force that put us in where we are today. Our children are watching us with empathy and cried aloud to say Daddy/ mummy where are we going from here? What is our hope for future as a nation? At 62, we are economically weak to the extend that we import almost every good items to our country. We are still seeking for loans from countries to build our infrastructure. We are the major indeptor of loans from counties like China. I only hope one day China will not take over our airports and seaports, our economic powers and convert to their source of recovering the huge loans we have borrowed and may not be able to pay back when due. Uganda once suffers such doom several years ago. The Entebbe airport is being managed by Chinese government because of failure to repay their outstanding loans. Economically what grounds are we preparing for our children still in pedagogical level. To me none is my respond. We have some Nigerian who today have huge investments out there like Dubai, South Africa, etc with high returns coming to their personal pockets. Some have big investments with no single Nigeria employed or seen working there. What a shame? What a wicked set of leaders. Yet we go to churches / mosque to call on God to help Nigeria grow.
How can when God has consider our cry and gave some people the economic impetus to lift us to the next level. Except God reconsider the plight of the poor we may be worst of than we started. The outcome of such economic derailment lead to increase rate of crimes like banditry, kidnapping, daily killings, armed robbery and name it. That attest to the book of Isaiah chapter 1 : 9 which states:
, , .
Just for the sake of few people ( sacrificial leaders) we should have suffers more than what we are seeing now. Tell me how can you explain the present situation we find ourself to our children the next ten twenty years. Who is responsible and what did we do to drive a wedged out of the numerous challenges we found ourself today. Do we tell them lies or rhetoric philosophy or what?
Politically we claim to be the largest politically structured nation in Africa and yet our leaders continue to swim more on corruptions and engulf our self from good to bad political system. Which political party put in place is straight forward.? Some times ago some of us resolved to shift the goal post to south as against the north who have been holding the seat of power for the past 62 years. But today virtually all the political parties during their primaries for election of creditable candidate for the seat of 001 position of leadership. The APC have their presidential candidate from the south
and the Vice President from the north. How strong is that candidacy to hold the nation that is be clouded with lot of issues to be addressed. Why Muslim Muslim agenda in a egaliterian nation like Nigeria. Is there equity to others and what are we looking at or simply what are we expecting under that kind of self seeking agenda of leadership? What a malady? What of PDP who have another opportunity to correct the past errors but deliberately approve the presidential candidate to be coming from north. Guess what we have not learn any lessons from our past errors. We are still in a state of insanity doing the same thing getting different results. Another jeopady in the political arrangement. Perhaps we may sing a song of relief if the Liberty party candidate candidate sail through but again there is the issue of structure to steer the wheel of progress. Will the president operate freely and generate desirable result in a nation where both the headship and followers are in different boats? Well it a riddle l cannot comprehend.

A nation that is old as 62 years cannot guarantee sound education and quality health services to it’s citizen. Schools have been closed for over seven months now and it is not an issue of concern to the nation. We have national Assembly in place, we have constitution in use and so many key variable to halt the ugly situations. It is never an issue of concern. Thus we are encouraging national crisis instead of national stability. A day is coming when we shall see our children in our roads and capital cities with all sort of arms to fight us back because we denied them the needed education. We can all see the indicators clearly now going bad. Are you safe in your homes, States etc. We operate under failed institutional structures. Unemployment have gone beyond our imagination with consequences staring at us directly. Our religious institutions expected to correct the ills through their numerous interventions have degenerated to court established to service the leadership of their founders. Schools established by these bodies can only be attended by the children of the rich even when the monies used to build such schools are generated by the poor parents. For us to appreciate the independence we are celebrating we need to first conduct a serious social analysis of what brought us to this level and what can we do to come out of the maladies we’ve created. We must at each level of governance set out goals right and focus on them to generate a paradigm shift in our actions and orientations. Let’s put the right pen in its right hole. The party issues should set aside their party differences and built a crop of leaders that will move the nation forward. Our leadership style should focus on leadership for results and not leadership for advocacy. All hands must be on deck to change the narrative. It shouldn’t be business as usual in all our developmental process. The time is now to build a new Nigeria. We don’t need to look at our past history, but focus on future with determination to reposition Nigeria. Nigeria is our nation and we shall all salvage it together. Great Nigeria, here we come.
