EARLY LIFE
Rt. Hon. Alfa Momoh Rabiu hails from Enabo, Enjema district of Ankpa LG, Born into the family of an elder statesman, renowned philanthropist, business mogul and politician, Alhaji Ishiaka Alfa (Wali). Young energetic Rabiu started his life sojourn at Enabo, involved himself in every morally upright activity including the Islamic school, the western and moral education.
EDUCATION
Hon. Alfa Momoh Rabiu commenced his first school in 1984 at Kogi State College of Education Staff School, Ankpa, now known as Demonstration Primary School and obtained his first School Leaving Certificate in 1990. His quest to knowing more convinced him to further his education after passing the mandatory Common Entrance Examination and he was admitted into the Federal Government College, Makurdi in 1990, where he spent three academic calendars and transfered to the Federal Government College, Ugwuolawo and obtained his Senior School Certificate Examination In the year 1997.
A very intelligent Hon. Rabiu gained admission to study Sociology at Bayero University, Kano and graduated with a BS.c Hons in Sociology in 2003. In 2005, a very passionate Rabiu completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps in Rivers State. Hon. Rabiu who is addicted to knowing more, proceeded to Kogi State University, Anyigba and obtained a PGd Certificate in 2007.
In 2020, Hon Rabiu proceeded to Federal University, Lokoja, where he bagged a Professional Master Degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution.
STUDENTS’ POLITICS
Hon. Rabiu was known as a fierce human from time immemorial. As a young kid who has found passion in politics, he committed himself to serving humanity. His political sojourn started at Federal Government College, Ugwuolawo, in 1995 when he became a House Leader. During this time, he was known as a pacesetter for students, particularly those behind him. This spirit of absolute service to the people continues until he was admitted to study Sociology at Bayero University, Kano (BUK). Pragmatic Hon. Rabiu, despite on a foreign land amidst a foreign people, was proactive and made his name a household name on BUK campus, a feat that propelled him into contesting for the office of the P.R.O, Student Union Government, B.U.K Chapter. An office he won with a landslide margin. He continued his political giant stride until he graduated from the prestigious Bayero University, Kano.
Hon. Rabiu proceeded to Rivers State for his mandatory National Youth Service Corps and became the the Corps Liaison Officer, (CLO) during his service year in Rivers State.
SECULAR POLITICS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Hon. Rabiu is the Chief Executive Officer, Almora Global Resources, a renowned multipurpose company based in Lagos, Abuja, Lokoja and Ankpa, which is into clearing and forwarding, vehicles logistics and sales, general consultancy to public and private companies in Nigeria.
In the year 2003, Rabiu commenced full-time secular politics under the mentorship of his father, Alhaji Ishiaka Alfa (Wali). He spent years learning from his father before being admitted into His Excellency, Late Prince Abubakar Audu’s political institution. Late Audu was a business associate and political ally of Alhaji Ishiaka Alfa (Wali). As a brilliant mentee who was willing and ready to learn, he absorbed every political ingredient needed to face the most intimidating aspect of politics. In 2007, politically brilliant Rabiu contested for the office of the State Assembly under the ANPP, a seat he contested and lost. A soul that is passionate about a particular thing will no doubt own it through resilience. He contested for the State Assembly office in 2011 under the same ANPP and lost. Yet, he didn’t give up and contested in 2015. A child who is destined to wear the crown will definitely wear it, no matter the impedes. Hon. Rabiu contested under the APC platform this time and defeated his opponents. He was however, named a victor with prestige.
Following his swearing in as member representing Ankpa II State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, he emerged the Deputy Minority Leader after the in-house election. Hon. Rabiu sponsored eleven (11) motions and two (2) bills during his stay in the Sixth Assembly.
He constructed eight (8) motorized boreholes across his eight (8) political Wards, built schools in Ojoku and Enjema districts, renovated schools, built market in Ojoku district and provided women, youths, and people living with disability with empowerments.
Having passed the test of time, having satisfied his people, having led and stood with the principle of retributive justice, the people of Enjema and Ojoku districts resolved and unanimously endorsed Hon. Rabiu for a second term in office. The people’s honourable who leads by the saying; the people’s power is stronger than the power that belongs to the people, won again to lead Ankpa II at the Kogi State House of Assembly in 2019. He swung into action and dividend of democray became a popular entity in Ankpa II, through sponsoring of the Local Government Bill, Youth and Women Empowerments, provision of palliatives to constituents, awards of educational scholarships, offsetting medical bills, construction of libraries and laboratories, renovation of schools and a host of others. In June 2022, Hon. Rabiu became the Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly.
FAMILY
He is a recipient of several awards and accolades from across the country, these include the recent one bestowed on him by the Kogi State House of Assembly Press Corps. The Award of Excellence in recognition of being the most vocal lawmaker as well as his excellent perfomance in constituency projects is spectacular. He also wears a number of honourary chieftaincy titles from across the state.
Rt. Hon. Alfa Momoh Rabiu is happily married to Mrs. Lucia Odah Rabiu, and the marriage is blessed with beautiful kids.
