AMB. OLUSOLA KILANI OLUMO WINS ANOTHER AWARD

. There is a common saying that a golden fish has no hiding place.This means that diligence, hard- work, honesty, royalty and open- handedness can never be concealed. Hence, Hon. Kilani Olumo, the represntative of Ijumu State Constitutency in the Kogi State House of Assembly has paid his due in the law- making process in Kogi State since 2019. Who is Kilani Olumo and what is his pedigree in Kogi State politics?
The little Kilani was born in Ayere community, in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State. His educational pursuit started at Anglican Primary School, Ayere. he had his West Africa School Certificate at the prestigious Government Secondary School, Malete- Ilorin, Kwara State. on completion of his advance level program at the Kwara State College of Technology in Ilorin 1983 with flying colours, he was admitted to the University of North London in United Kingdom for his first degree in Computing. He also obtained a Master of Business administration (MBA) degree from Cumbria University also in United Kingdom, he is currently a Ph.D student in computer science at Leicester University UK. He is a member of the British Computer Society-BCS and also the British Institute of Data processing management-IDPM.
Olusola Kilani Olumo stated his career working as a technical support analyst with the department of Health and Social Security in United Kingdom. He later moved his career and joined Hewlett Packard UK as a senior SAP Technology consultant. Currently, he is the Head of SAP Technology for SAP West Africa, where he has recently transformed his vast technical experience into leadership process improvement and quality management responsibilities.
He is a recipient of the prestigious Ambassador of Peace award from the international peace federation in August 2011 for his contribution to humanity. He was recently honoured by the Kogi State House of Assembly Press Corps as,The Most Consistent Lawmaker in Legislative Business in project execution.
He enjoys current affairs and he’s also a golf enthusiast.

Hon. Kilani Olumo has moved over nine motions on the floor of the House of Assembly, some of which are:
*Motion calling on the state govt to look into the high rate of kidnappings along Obajana Kabba road
*Motion calling on the state govt to help communities in ijumu rampage by erosion such as Ayere and Ekirin Adde communities.
*A motion calling on the state govt to construct a perimeter fence of the College of Education Technical Kabba for security reasons.

Hon. Kilani Olumo has presented two Bills on the floor of the 7th Assembly.

*Bill for the re enactment of the Establishment, Functions and Powers of the Kogi State sanitation and waste management Board.

* Bill for the reorganization of the Kogi State Tourism Board.
Both Bills have been passed to laws and ascended to by the Kogi State governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The achievements of Hon Kilani Olumo is too numerous to mention but I will mention few here

*Hon Kilani Olumo empowered over 100 women with cash to start or improved their business.
*He empowered women from the three districts of the constituency with grinding machines so they can be independent.

* Hon Kilani Olumo has 9 students in tertiary institution who are on his scholarship scheme

*Hon Kilani paid the school fees of 85 secondary students whose parents are indigents.

*Hon Kilani got sport equipment and items for youths in the constituency who are into sports.

*Paid the rent of the Party LG Secretariat for two years.

*Empowered party men and women to help their various endeavours.

*Gave his 3months salary during the Covid 19 pandemic to help ameliorate the living conditions of his constituents.

*Gave #300,000 to Ijumu Development Union during Covid 19 and another #250,000 as contribution towards the building of Ijumu Unity House.

* Drilled bore hole for Iyara community to help provide potable water for his people.

Lobbied state government projects to his constituency such as the SUBEB Assisted Projects.
And so many other helps rendered to his constituents. Hon. Kilani Olumo is happily married and blessed with two lovely children.
