Senator Yakubu Oseni, was elected in 2019 to represent Kogi Central Senatorial District, at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, Senate.
Upon inauguration into the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, and to demonstrate the seriousness with which he regarded his mandate, Senator Oseni redefined the priorities of constituency he represents and to make a difference, such that infrastructures, human capacity, would reach the remote corners of the constituency. His revolutionary approach to development has taken healthcare delivery to the doorsteps of the people of the constituency, good road, human capacity, provision of good water, to reduce perennial snarling water crisis in the area, by sinking motorized boreholes across the five local governments that made up of the District; renovation of primary and post-primary schools with provision of computers/ICT to the schools; scholarship to the less-privileged students, etc, etc.
The issue of poverty alleviation has been the focal points of Senator Osenis constituency programme. 
Through his human capacity empowerment, the youths in the area have not only found scour in life but presently, are earning sustainable livelihood.
In order to make women more productive and economically viable, Senator Oseni, has provided financial assistance to market women across the five local government of the constituency.
As an apostle of teaching people to fish than giving fish, Senator Oseni could spot talents from afar and nurture them to maturity. The quality is evident in the number of people he employed into various federal establishments, parastatals and have means of livelihood.
Senator Oseni, who is known to be target-driven, would not give up or get weary in pursuit of dividends of democracy to his people, until results are achieved. His belief is that success could only be achieved through dint of hard work, efficiency and Gods favour. Today, Senator Oseni would look back, thank his Creator for inculcating in him from his childhood, the spirit of hard work and Leadership quality.
The recent passage of the Bill for the conversion of Federal College of Education, Okene to Federal University of Education, sponsored by Senator Yakubu Oseni, is an added feather to his giant stride in the Senate and delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi Central. Senator Osenis giant stride of four years in office has, no doubt, endeared the people, lining him to return for second term in order to continue the good work he had started, but unfortunately, as the political arrangement in the area could not favour him, as a contented man who believe in faith, humbly accepted the outcome without friction.
Having evaluated the political antecedent and credible achievement of this young man, history will continue to speak volume for him for his giant contribution to the infrastructural development of the area, through his grassroots-oriented projects.
