The Organisation in its reaction to the video said their principal; Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo does not have any link or connection whatsoever to the said video or sentiment shared by the character.
This was contained in a swift media parley held in Lokoja by the Organisation’s Director, Media & Publicity, Mr Rotimi Odofin on behalf of his Director General, Engr. Suleiman Aminu Adaira, states that: “We wish to condemn the content and character contained in the video as it is not in any way connotes or relates to the character and person of our Principal, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. The content therein is highly insensitive, demeaning, psychologically traumatizing and condemnable and does not represent or serve in the best interest of any person or group within and outside the party”.
The statement further stated that the emergence of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo as the APC party’s flag bearer has been largely accepted within and outside the camp of the state’s Leader, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, and the candidate has since being enjoying the love and supports of his “Political Family and Brothers”, and therefore holds them with utmost regards and respect.
Mr Odofin said: “This is self-evident with the immediate initiation of visitations and reconciliation process across all the ethnics, religions and party lines following his emergence. He has been known to be a perfect gentleman within and outside the political cycle and cannot at this point deviate from such good virtues”.
The Media pointman of the Organisation stated that the Unity amongst our leaders and the party in the state is paramount at this point in time and no message of disunity – which the video clearly portrays should be encouraged or entertained by anyone no matter how highly placed or otherwise.
Mr Olurotimi Odofin concluded his statement: “It is on this note we wish to categorically state that Ododo’s Mandate represent the collective interests and peaceful coexistence of all segment of Kogi State regardless of ethnicity, tribes or religion; hence, the content of the video does not represent the interest and aspirations of our Principal and what he stands for.
We therefore appeal to all well-meaning Kogites to please find your humanity and spare the victim of any unfortunate and heinous act the indignity of having to relieve a nightmare. Our campaign, as admonished by our Principal, is going to be an issue based and scientific, as we look forward to improving on the gains and good legacies of our leader, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello and to strengthen the bond of unity which has already been entrenched by his Excellency in the past seven years in the state”.
