It’s a worthy facts that the Church was primarily established as corporate Organization
Churches over the years has been corporate to provide spiritual platform for the spiritual growth of it’s members.

Beside this primary objective the church is an organisation that promote the welfare of its members and enhance their growth and development.

This underscore why many early missionaries build schools from primary to tertiary institutions, build hospitals to provide health services, provide training centres in diverse fields to children of members who may not have meet up with the rigours of formal school system.
With such provision many were trained in several skill acquisition at institutions owned by government and private individuals.
Today we can see massive turn over of professionals in diverse trades like tailor, carpenter, shoe makers, vehicle drivers, vehicle mechanics etc.

With the increasing commitment these body of human knowledge have turn out products that are certificated and produce a large volume of professionals in various fields of endeavors.

The Churches are equally known to be a fast agent of these human development.

Alot of churches like the Church Missionary Societies now known as Anglican mission, catholic church, ECWA, Baptist mission, etc build schools and opened up skill training centres to ensure their members are fully literate and acquire needed skills.

However the Islamic bodies are not left out as several Quranic institutions were established to train their members with basic tenets of their religion and provide needed skills for effective human development.

The Nigeria of today can boosts of both formal and non formal institutions for members to grow and improve their potentials.

While all this laudable efforts are appreciated, there is need to call on these religious institutions to do more especially now that the government is gradually phasing out their commitment in the education sector.
Since Schools have been returned to their owners and less attention are being paid on the growth of these institutions.

The Established Schools are busy turning out graduates each year but their product are roaming the major streets to find a suitable job placement.

Going to school is gradually turning out to be a sin or wasteful venture in our society.

The Children that were sent to schools come out with degrees yet they can not find suitable jobs nor any other opportunities to make them benefit from the institutions they attended.

It is against this lacuna that we need to look carefully on what is the issue in our policies at all level of government.

What are the structure put in place to facilitate Life’s continuity after school life? Therefore we needed critical social analysis of what we are?, where we are? and what has brought us to this level. Though Several policies were developed and are on record but to what extent have they become a panacea to address our present challenge?

The challenges rather deepen more and more as system involved strategies at each political season.

Education which over the years has been a strong tool for national development has being basterized to the extend that we cannot measure it’s quality anymore.

.We need social analysis to know why we are currently at where we are.

What needs to be done to change the narrative?

What is the role of our religious institutions in changing narratives?

Let’s remember that What are we going to hand over to our children?
We need social analysis.
We must drive a wedge out of the vicious cycle we find ourself.
Let us not be deceived that the political class can change the narrative.

Indeed they are the real agent that destroy what we inherited from the colonial masters
They created the culture of greed, corruption, lawlessness and abuse of power in all ranks and file of the system of governance.
We need to go outside our door and do study of how other countries manage the ugly situation and come out of it. Today an average criminal is more respected same society that placed premium on good conduct and ethical standard.

School certificates which are hall mark of excellent performance are purchased and produced around mushroom institutions.

We are now having graduates from University that can not demonstrate intellectual output in their field of study.

Meanwhile the none formal institutions on their own part are turning out products that are icons of their various profession.

We talk so much of accreditations of institutions to ensure the quality performance of their products . Yet a critical look at these citadel of learning performance would likely make one to weep.

Sadly the impact of this evil mustards on our national life is vast, and one can only wonders if we have a dependable human resources to lead the nation to economically giant hight with productive people.

One of the presidential aspirant in the last general elections in his manifesto uphold the principle of quality production of the work force but how do we reach the promise land if we have to continue the same process in which we have been practicing with corruption been at the center of all segments of our society.

Politically we are bedeviled with thugs taking powerful position in our political arrangement, economically we are less productive but have hight taste for consumption of others nations product.

For instance Nigeria is a major marketer of Chinese products.

We consumed every product produced by other countries.

Whereas Nigeria is blessed with rich abundant resources which we have failed to explore.

We cannot continue to be deceiving ourselves, the days of oil boom is over and may not experience it again.

We most go back to do critical social analysis to know where we are and come out with strategies to over come our prevailing challenges.

We need to move from consumption to productive pattern of development strategy. We need to redesign what we called our educational system to the kind that will provide a level play ground for our industrial development.

We must developed economic vitality and a genuine social orientation that will generate new crop of leaders that capable of reasoning outside the box.

We strongly need transformation attitude and all that concerns us to a new pattern of thinking suitable for the 21st century.

As a country We shouldn’t remain in our cynicism and believe we will have break through.
