2020: Kogi Speaker charges Nigerians to pray for people in position of authority
Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole has charged Nigerians, especially Christians to continue praying for people in position of authority at all levels in the country, stressing that the New Year will bring good tidings.
The Speaker who felicitated with Kogites enjoined them to rekindle their hope in the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello to move both the nation and state forward despite the prevailing economic challenges in the country.
He said with God all things are possible hence the need for concerted efforts by Nigerians to hold unto God in prayers for better days to come in the New Year.
He noted that the passage of the 2020 Appropriation bills into law by the 9th National Assembly and the State House of Assembly with the subsequent signing of the bills by President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello returning the state and country to the January to December budget circle is enough evident that Nigeria will witness positive developments in year 2020.
He urged Kogites to pray for the peace and unity of the State and Country at large, noting that God should give the leadership the needed wisdom, knowledge, understanding and good health to continue to pilot the affairs of this great nation in the right direction.
He commended the people of the state for having faith in APC/ GYB/CEDO by voting them en masse in the just concluded Governorship election and Senator Smart Adeyemi CON for Kogi West, pointing out that the New Year will be far better for the people.
He urged them to continue to support and cooperate with the new direction administration in order to deliver their campaign promises, promising that the 7th Assembly of the Kogi State House of Assembly under his watch will continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to make laws that will promote good governance in the state.
The Speaker wishes Kogites and Nigerians, on behalf of the entire members, management and staff of the Kogi State House of Assembly a peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
