Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Elder (Mrs) Deborah Ogunmola has felicitated with the State workers on the New Year as she urged to remain supportive of government.
In a statement, Mrs Ogunmola congratulated the workers for a successful end of 2019 as she wish them a more rewarding 2020.
Enjoining them to remain resilient and committed to duty in 2020, the Head of Service assured that workers’ welfare remains top priority to the Alhaji Yahaya Bello-led administration.
She admonished them to continue to keep faith with the government and work hard to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Being public servants, Mrs Ogunmola reminded them that they owe it a duty to judiciously implement policies of government and support effort that would lift the State.
She prayed that God continues to sustain and grant them the hearts of service to the State and the nation at large.
She reiterated that her doors would remain open to ideas and suggestions that border on making the service better even as she called for greater discipline among all cadres in the State Civil Service.
“We must not be seen to constitute a clog in the wheel of progress. As drivers of the mechinery of government, a lot is expected from us and l pray God to grant us the wisdom and strength to deliver”.
On the widely publicised statement credited to her over the resurgence of about 300 Ghost workers, Mrs Ogunmola denied ever making such statement and blamed it on mischief makers.
“I am careful with words. I couldn’t have said that. I advise journalists to double-check any information at their disposal before going to press”, she emphasised adding that the task of building the State is a collective responsibility.
