Former Minister of State for Health, Chief Gabriel Aduku has appealed to the federal government to retrieve illegal weapons in the hands of unauthorised citizens as a panacea for peace and security in the country.
Chief Aduku made the plea during a peace walk in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi state.
He said the withdrawal of such illegal arms and ammunitions would ultimately ensure peace, unite the people and foster development of the society.
Chief Aduku who is the convener of peace walk said it was geared towards the socio-economic emancipation of Igala land.
A retired Commissioner of Police, Gabriel Adejoh called for the training of security operatives in specific fields to tackle specific crimes.
National President of Igala Cultural and Development Association, Amodu Sadiq Abubakar adviced youths to shun all froms of crime and criminality especially thuggery, kidnapping, armed robbery and cultism.
This will be the second edition of the peace walk tagged peace, progress and prosperity, build do not destroy Igala Kingdom.
