The dispute between Okene branch of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) and indeginous private radio station JATTO FM over alleged unpaid electricity bills causing the radio station to alert the public of unbiased treatment by the electricity distribution company have been resolved amicably at the instance of the Chief Security Officer of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Security Matters in charge of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad intervene in the crisis to prevent the two private companies from plunging the town into crisis that could threaten the security of the most peaceful Local Government in Kogi State.
After listening to both parties, Hon. Abdulrazaq appealed to the managment of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company to sheath their sword and provide some leverage, and show compassion to enable the radio station meet the comapny’s demand and resume operation. While he extols the efforts Mr Edward Jatto of JATTO FM in promoting peace and unity of Ebira people, he equally advised the station not to deviate from her lofty ideas but ensure issues are always resolve peacefully without resort to self help.
After a succeesful deliberation, the managment of JATTO FM radio station pledged to continue to promote the services of the electricity distribution company and of course Mr Salihu Ibu Muhammed, the Business Manager of Okene branch of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) assures the government and community representatives that the company will explore areas of possible assistance to help the new radio station grow.
