*AGAIN, SENATOR OSENI TRAINS, EMPOWERS 500 WOMEN IN KOGI CENTRAL*
Barely two weeks after empowering over 500 women in various vocational trainings, the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Yakubu Oseni has again in the second phase of his women empowerment scheme, trained and empowered 500 women across his constituency.
The second phase of the women empowerment which was concluded yesterday was focused on the production of petroleum jelly (Vaseline), dettol and air freshener.
Senator Oseni who reassured his constituents of his continuous effort to improve standard of living at the grassroots emphasized the strategic roles of women in nation building.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Bello Aliyu, the lawmaker who is the chairman, Senate Committee on ICT/Cybercrime further opined that if necessary survival and vocational skills are impacted on the people especially the youths and women, the rate of social vices emanating from idleness would be reduced drastically.
Senator Oseni noted that in the face of the recent recession that hit the country’s economy, revitalisation of small scale business and skill/vocational training could also provide the necessary economic booster at the grassroots.
While addressing some of beneficiaries who were adequately given start up capital, the lawmaker’s Personal Assistant, Mall. Yusuf Abdulmumin said his boss is leaving no stone unturned in making sure that the living standards of his constituents are improved.
Mall. Abdulmumin further revealed that multiple constituency projects embarked on by the lawmaker are at advanced stage of completion and would soon be ready for commissioning.
“His love for education has been displayed since inauguration by his various unique contributions to schools across the five local government areas of his constituency. As we speak, there are several ongoing building and rehabilitation of classrooms, sinking of boreholes and construction of ultra-modern ICT and digital centres across Kogi Central,” he said.
Various beneficiaries that spoke at the event expressed excitement at the orderly conduct of the event, describing as unprecedented the leadership acumen of Senator Oseni for initiating the life transforming programme.
