Alhaji Aminu Shaban has been turbaned as the chief Imam of lokoja central mosque.
The turbaning ceremony which was performed by the Maigari of lokoja, Alhaji Mohammed Makarfi the third at his palace in lokoja had in attendance the state Grand Khadi sheria court of Appeal, Islamic clerics, and political and traditional leaders.
In a remark, the Kogi state Grand Khadi, Sheria Court of Appeal, Alhaji Abdulkareem Aruwa, congratulated the new chief Imam urging him to lead with the fear of God.
He also urged him to ensure unity, harmony and peaceful conduct among the Muslim ummah.
Chairman lokoja central mosque, Alhaji Abdullahi Mabo said the new imam was unanimously selected by the executive of the mosque as such he would be accepted by all.
The new chief Imam, Alhaji Aminu Shaban thanked everyone for their support and promised to promote religious tolerance as well as ensure peace and harmony among the Muslim faithful.
