Atta Igala extols the Exemplary Leadership of Rt Hon Matthew Kolawole
…charges members to concretize the unity of the confluence state
The Atta Igala and President of the Kogi State Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Michael Ameh Oboni II, has extolled the exemplary leadership of the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole.
The Monarch disclosed this yesterday in his palace in Idah when the Speaker led other members of the 7th assembly to pay him traditional homage on their way to Ibaji Local Government to attend the burial program of one of the colleagues, late Hon. John Abah, member representing Ibaji State Constituency who died on the 24th June, 2020 after a protracted illness.
The Monarch who described the Speaker as his son, commended his dexterity at which he is using to pilot the affairs of the Assembly, urging members to continue to give him the needed support to stabilize the state.
He said the Assembly remain one of the major institutions that can galvanize the much needed unity in the state, stressing that fate has brought the people of Kogi State together right from the time of Kabba Province before the creation of Kwara and Benue State, now back to Kogi, hence everyone should key into any venture that will unite and strengthen the bond of unity.
He noted with nostalgia his wonderful and fantastic experience during his secondary school days at St. Augustine’s College, Kabba where he met and knew so many people across the state, stressing that such brotherly love should continue to build the state of our dreams.
He said for the members to come in large numbers to honor one of their own despite that he is late shows the kind of leadership Kolawole is providing at the Assembly, praying that God will take him to a higher level.
He recalled his interactions with the late Hon John Abah when alive noting that he got to know him when he was in the banking sector before he ventured into politics, describing him as a perfect gentle man that is focused to get whatever he wants.
Speaking earlier, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole had commended the fatherly role of the Monarch at steering the ship of the traditional institution in the state which has contributed in no small measure to promote peace and tranquility in their various domains.
He said they were on their way to Ibaji to attend the burial program of one of their ow who died recently and decided inline with the traditions to pay him homage, pointing out that it will not be good for them to pass through his domain without greeting him as a father.
He enjoined him to continue to work with other Royal fathers in the state to give the much needed support to the current administration led by Governor Yahaya Bello, stressing that without the support of the Executive arms, they might not be able to achieve much which will not be good for the state.
He pledged that the assembly under his watch with the support of his colleagues will continue to work for the peace and progress of the state.
