Autonomy for states legislature: Kogi assembly Clerk lauds Buhari, Bello

Clerk of Kogi State House of Assembly, Alh Ibrahim Amoka has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s granting of financial autonomy to the states legislature as timely and long overdue
Alh Ibrahim Amoka also praised Gov Yahaya Bello for signing into law a bill granting financial and administrative autonomies to Kogi State House of Assembly a week before the presidential assent
Alh Ibrahim Amoka made this known during a meeting with management and staff members of the assembly in Lokoja.
He described Governor Bello as a humane personality who is greatly concerned about workers’ welfare, noting that his assent to financial autonomy before the president lend credence to this.
He admonished staff members to eschew laziness at work but reciprocate government’s gestures by being more industrious.
Earlier,the Deputy Clerk, Mr Apeh Emmanuel who said agitation for financial autonomy started in 2000, also lauded Governor Bello for granting financial and administrative autonomies to the state assembly.
He congratulated all stakeholders who had worked towards the realisation of the autonomy.
In a remark, Director of Administration, Martin’s Enimola stresses on unity among workers, saying it would usher I developments for an establishment or community, just as he solicited for more support for the management team.
In closing remarks, Chairman, Alh Abdulmalik Anders and Comr Yemisi J Olorunnaiye of the Assembly Commission, appreciated President Buhari and Gov Bello for their support towards the granting of the autonomy.
They expressed optimism that the APC led government would do the needful to actualising it financially for full operation of state legislature
