Speaker Benue state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Titus Uba says the recent signing of Executive order ten by president Muhammad Buhari aimed at implementing financial autonomy for states legislature would promote development.
Mr Uba who stated this in an interview with news men in makurdi,said despite the lean resources of the state,the House of Assembly has made some remarkable progress in its first legislative session due to the support of Governor Samuel Orton and expressed optimism that with the full financial autonomy granted the legislature would do better.
On the recent local government election in the state,the speaker enjoined the elected chairmen not to disappoint the electorate but execute projects that would impact on the lives of the people while also calling on the opposition to join hands with them in moving the state forward.
He enjoined the people to cooperate with security Agencies by giving them useful information that would enable them succeed in their assignment and promised the needed legislative support to promote peace across the state.
