Kogi Community and Social Dev.Agency (KGCSDA)spends over N1,1 b on Projects Executions

As the Community and Social Development Project-Additional Financing (CSDP-AF) is billed to end in June this year, The General Manager of Kogi state Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA), Mallam Dauda Momoh, disclosed that over one point one billion naira has been spent in project execution with an average of N3.5 million per micro project at various communities.

Mallam Dauda, disclose this during a two days training for Desk Officers from Ministrys, Departments, and Agencies and community development officers, from the eleven focal Local Government Areas of the state on ‘Best Practices in Projects Implementation, Monitoring and Supervision’, held in Okene.

Mallam Dauda explained that the agency within the period under review executed sixty four micro projects in kogi East, fifty seven in the kogi West and fifty four in the kogi Central respectively.

While commending Governor Yahaya Bello for the providing enabling environment for the projects embarked upon by the agency Mallam Dauda pointed out that the projects cut across Education, Rural Electricity, Environment and Natural Resources, Gender, Health, Socio economic, Transport and water sectors.

The General Manager pointed out that the agency was working towards tailoring its projects in the next phase to meet the impact of the covid19, under a program tagged, Covid19 Action Response and Economic stimulus.

He further maintained that the communities should take ownership of projects to ensure their sustainability.

In their separate responses, the Community Development Officer for Okene Local Government, Comrade Muhammed Abdulazeez and his counterpart from Dekina local government, Mr. Mohammed Ogu thanked the agency for the level of transperancy exhibited throughout the phase of the projects and urged it not to relent on her oars.

Highlight of the training are an overview of CSDP-AF by Mr. Ayo Oludare, Psycho-social support in CSDP by Mrs. Mopinre Akinola, Team Building and Team Leadership for High Performance by the GM and discussion session with the participants.
