A bill for a law to make provision for the establishment of the debt management office has passed second reading at the Benue state House of Assembly.
Convincing his colleagues to support the passage of the bill majority leader, Damian Cheme said the debt management is to coordinate all forms of credit facilities and also liquidate all loans obtained by the state government and urged members to support the bill.
Contributing the minority leader,Bem Mngutyo and his Tiev constituency counterpart Dominic Ucha said the bill when passed would regulate loan acquisition by the government.
The speaker,Titus Uba who noted the importance of the bill directed that it should be read the second time and referred the bill to the house committee on finance for more legislative input. #
