Ex-Kwara Speaker, Ali, mourns Makama Yahaya * describes him kindred-spirit community leader Stephen Olufemi Oni, Ilorin

Former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, Rt. Hon. Ali Ahmad, has expressed his heartfelt condolences over the passing of Ndeji of Lafiagi, Alhaji Ahmad Makama Yahaya.

The community leader and former public servant passed away after a brief illness, according to reports.

In a condolence statement issued by the spokesperson for his media office, Steve Makinde, the former Speaker described Late Alhaji Ahmad Makama Yahaya as a kindred-spirit community leader who served his people with dedication and always stood firmly for any cause he believed in.

Professor Ali sympathised with the Lafiagi Emirate Council, led by the Emir of Lafiagi Alhaji Mohammed Kudu, the immediate family of the deceased, and all those who admired him for his forthrightness.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Ndeji of Lafiagi, Alhaji Ahmad Makama Yahaya, a kindred-spirit community leader who served his people with utmost dedication and always stood firmly for what he believed in.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the Lafiagi Emirate Council, ably led by His Royal Highness the Emir of Lafiagi Alhaji Mohammed Kudu, the immediate family of the late Ndeji of Lafiagi, and all those who loved the forthrightness of Alhaji Ahmad Makama Yahya during this difficult time.”

The former lawmaker prayed to Almighty Allah to accept the soul of the Late community leader and comfort those he left behind. He also urged everyone who believed in the ideals he represented to work towards the betterment of Lafiagi Emirate and humanity at large.

“It is my prayer that Almighty Allah accepts his return and rest the soul of our beloved community leader. May He comfort us all during this difficult time.”
