Female Judges Move to Protect Child, Vulnerable Witnesses

Female Judges in Nigeria have commenced move that would guarantee the protection of child and other vulnerable witnesses in the country.

The effort commences with a virtual and hybrid conference slated for December 3, 2020 in Abuja.

Tagged, “Child and Vulnerable Witnesses Protection in Nigeria” the conference, according to eminent female Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and President, National Association of Women Judges, Nigeria (NAWJN), Justice Mary Peter-Odili, is expected to attract female Judges from across the country as well as other critical stakeholders and experts in gender and vulnerable matters.

Justice Peter-Odili in a notification said that the conference, “is designed deliberately to give participants an overview of the protection of child and other vulnerable witnesses who may be victims of crime, accused of a crime or witnesses to a crime, particularly in cases of sexual offences, domestic violence and child abduction in Nigeria”.
