Flee from all evil appearances to receive salvation- Cleric urges Nigerians
Pastor Dr E S Awojide Territorial Chairman and Vice President, the Apostolic Church Nigeria, (TACN)
made the call on Sunday during the church 33rd Lokoja Area Annual Convention held in Kogi State.
Pastor Awojide who was represented by the former Lagos and Western, Northern Areas Territory (LAWNA) Administrative Secretary of TACN, Pastor Isaac Gbadebo Fakunle noted that not every success made by an individual is a good one.
He emphasized that those who kidnap and demand high ransom to succeed are doing that against the scripture and the will of God which he termed as bad success.
In his sermon titled “placing high value on the word of God” taken from Joshua 1:8; Awojide emphasized that Christians must meditate and pray as they search the word of God in order to make good success in life.
The clergy stressed that the negative happenings in the country today is as a result the people deviating from the word of God.
According to him, many Nigerians have subjected their fellow human being to pains and affliction in a bid to make wealth forgetting the fact that one day they would all give account of their stewardship before their creator.
” What am saying here is that God is not happy with the evil deeds perpetuated by man on earth. Kidnappings everywhere, insecurity, poverty, blaspheming, and many more is currently the order of the day in this country.
“For how long are we going to continue with this un-Godly act? Nigerians must retrace their steps before it is too late. Roman 14:12 has said it all, because one day, everyone of us shall give account of our self to God. If you are that one who Kidnap, kill your fellow human, cause pains just because you want satisfaction, don’t forget the day of judgment is around the corner” he advised.
Adding his voice, the Convener of the Convention Pastor Isaac Edafenumo Omohoro JP, said this year program is timely in view of the present challenges bedevilling the nation, praying that God would soon put an end to the current corona virus pandemic ravaging the world today.
It was however gathered that several spiritual fathers attended the convention service from various branches of the church in Kogi State and other States of the Federation.
