Hon Bajeh Commend Gov Yahaya Bello on Security

Kogi State House of Assembly has adopted what it described as a staggered seating arrangement pending when the state government puts an improved security measure at the assembly complex.

The adoption followed a motion sponsored by the majority leader, Murktar Bajeh on the need to for the state government to put improved security measures in the assembly complex.

He said the call became necessary in view of the current security situation in the country.

Bajeh who is also the member representing okehi state constituency commended Governor Yahaya Bello for the security measures deployed to make the state safe for the people.

Members in their support said there was need to increase the height of the perimeter fence of the assembly complex.

The speaker, Prince Mathew Kolawole said the current security situation in the country and the state was worrisome as the assembly was vulnerable based on its location.

He said the road to the assembly needs more security presence owing to the fact that it houses many government offices.

The speaker who also appealed to the state government to fix the zone eight road to crusher said a journey of five minutes takes twenty seven minutes.

Similarly the house has received a petition from one Mrs Jumai Asmau Tanko stating that her name was illegally replaced as permanent secretary with another person’s name.

After laying the petition before the house, the member representing Igalamela odolu State Constituency Cosmas Atabo who read the petition said the said woman called on the house to investigate the alleged illegality.

The speaker Prince Mathew Kolawole in his ruling refered the petition to the house committee on petition and establishment.

The speaker asked the committee to report back to the house with one week.
