Kogi state house of assembly has rejected the letter sent by the Sterling Bank PLC, requesting its Managing Director Abubakar Suleiman to appear on another date picked by the assembly, to clear the air on the alleged twenty billion naira saga between the kogi state government and sterling bank.
The rejection came after principal officers of the house met on the matter during plenary in lokoja.
The speaker, prince Mathew Kolawole who announced the position of the house, said the letter written by the bank did not carry the logo and name of the bank.
He however said that for equity and fairness, the house has agreed that the bank MD be rescheduled to appear on the eighth of December, and should do so in person as his representative would not be accepted.
It would be recalled that the Managing Director of the bank had failed to honour the invitation of the house three times and the house last week threatened to issue a warrant of arrested on him.
In another development the house has confirmed the appointments of Mr Irojah Femi and Abu Adams as permanent commissioners kogi state contributory pension commission for kogi West and East respectively.
The speaker urged them to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the management of the commission.
Meanwhile the house has fixed twenty nineth of this month to commence budget defence for ministries departments and agencies, MDAs.
The speaker, prince Mathew Kolawole urged all MDAs to make sure they keep to their scheduled date.
