Kogi Assembly Adopts Report Of Appropriation Committee Before Passage of 2024 Budget of #258.2 billion

Kogi State House of Assembly has passed into law the twenty twenty four Appropriation Bill of over two hundred and fifty eight point two billion naira.

The passage followed the adoption of the report of the House Standing Committee on Appropriation Budget Monitoring and Economic Planning.

Laying the budget report before the Lawmakers on the floor of the house, the Chairman House Standing Committee on Appropriation Budget Monitoring and Economic Planning, Hon.  Sam Olawunmi  Jacob who lead the debate said the committee in considering the Appropriation Bill noted the following financial parameters that over one hundred and forty five point seven billion naira was proposed for appropriation and issuance from the consolidated revenue funds of Kogi state on recurrent expenditure while over one hundred and twelve point five billion naira was proposed for appropriation and issuance from consolidated revenue funds of Kogi state for capital expenditure both ending December 31, 2024.

He said during the budget defence, the sub- committees had varied observations ranging from wrong input of figures and made necessary recommendations for variation of certain codes with movement of certain amounts to other codes within the same budget heads to address under estimation or overestimation as provided for in the proposed appropriation bill in line with economic realities in the state.

The Lawmaker who also represents Mopamuro state constituency appreciated the various chairmen of the sub-committees , clerks to Committees, the press and administrative staff for their respective support.
