The Kogi state House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege as the Auditor General for Local Government.
His appointment followed the confirmatory hearing by the house during plenary in Lokoja.
The speaker Aliyu Umar Yusuf in his progress report charged the new Auditor General for Local Government to discharge the duties of his office diligently.
In an interview with the assembly press corps, shortly after his confirmation, the new Auditor General for Local Government, Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege said he would ensure there was no fraud in the system.
The Auditor General for Local Government promised to consolidate on the achievement of his predecessor who is the governor elect, Alhaji Usman Ododo.
He also promised to sustain the template used by his predecessor to move the office to the next level.
He appreciated Governor Yahaya Bello for appointing him to serve in that capacity
