
The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has attended the flag-off of the distribution of the Metropolitan Quick Response Vehicle for the State, at the Capital, Lokoja and was performed by the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Reacting to the development, Rt Hon Umar said the gesture by the Governor shows the determination of the current administration to continue with the legacy of the immediate government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello and even surpass it in the area of ensuring security of lives of the people of Kogi State.
He stressed the need for the people of the state to continue to support the administration in the effort of phasing off security challenges in all parts of the state.
Speaking at the flag-off, the Governor said his administration is leveraging necessary technologies and other infrastructure to tame the problem of insecurity in all its forms.
He noted that his administration would continue to synergize and galvanize security agencies, both formal, hunters and vigilante groups, for effective policing of the entire state.
The occasion had the Governor, government functionaries and security agencies in attendance.
Also present to receive the vehicles is the Lokoja Local Government Transition Committee Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu and his counterparts from other local councils.
In his address, the State Security Adviser, Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (RTD) applauded the administration of Alhaji Ododo for his commitment towards addressing the problem of insecurity in a unique manner.
He said he saw the traits of the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the current Governor to make the problems of insecurity a thing of the past.
