Kogi Deputy Speaker: Ahmed Mohammed celebrate with Christians,urges steadfastness love, peace, forgiveness amongst kogites
As the World marks yet another Christmas celebration which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, the Kogi state Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon . Ahmed Mohammed has asked the adherence of Jesus Christ to make the reason for the season which depict absolute love, peace, sacrifices, humility, steadfastness, meekness and above all giving which depict His coming to the world to salvage humanity from the shackle of sins, reconcile them with their makers and link men to God to be their guiding principle.
In his Christmas message to the people of the State which was made available to Newsmen in Lokoja today , Rt Hon .Ahmed Mohammed explained that the gift of Christ by God to the World is significantly good because through Him humanity was brought closer to their makers.
The lawmaker who represents the good Citizens of Ankpa 1 state Constituency at the house of Assembly urged the Christians faithful to be Christ like by emulating His good deeds in their daily operations especially as they co-exists with other faiths , reminding them that Christ during His eventful stay healed the sick, created wealth to the needles, resurrected the deaths , preach love and peace to the world .
He also reminded the citizens that Christmas festival shouldn’t be merry making or extravagant festivity only but a time to reflect soberly and ask for God to intervene in the nadir of human challenges which the country is presently passing through.
The sitting lawmaker identified insecurity ranging from banditry, kidnapping,boko Haram, terrorism, highways robbery , inflation and endemic poverty which the citizens are confronted with and pleaded for prayers to God’s intervention.
Rt Honourable assured the citizens of the resolved of the house to continued to make pro- People’s laws and support the executive arm necessarily to enable it fast track good governance as well as deepening democracy in the state and predicted that year 2022 will witness socio-economic prosperity to the people.
The Kogi state Deputy Speaker asked the citizens to support Government’s policies and programmes ,be loyal to constituted authorities and reports suspicious elements to the security agents as part of support in curbing insecurity in the Land.
While wishing Christian brethren a blissful Christmas celebration, Rt Hon . Ahmed however cushioned against extravagant spending and shun negative attitudes capable of breaching the peace of the land.
