Kogi Govt, Takes Steps to reward hardwork

In a bid to reward hardwork and selfless service in Kogi state, the state house of assembly is considering a bill for a law to provide for the award of Kogi state Honours and matters connected with 2023.

The executive bill which passed through second reading at plenary had the support of the lawmakers.

Leading the debate on the bill, the majority leader, Suleiman Abdurazak said the bill when passed into law has the potential of adding value to the state through selfless service.

He also said the categories of the award to be giving, includes, Grand Confluence Service Star, GCSS, Distinguished Silver Service Star, DSSS, Confluence Merit Silver Star, CMSS, and Confluence Commendation Silver Star, CCSS.

The lawmaker maintained that the objective of the bill is to honour those who have distinguished themselves and spur others to selfless service to the state.

In the meantime,
The kogi state house of Assembly has confirmed Timothy Ojoma as Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural resources designate to replace the sacked former Commissioner David Apeh.

The former commissioner was sacked for alleged anti party activities.

The speaker Aliu Umar Yusuf after the confirmation charged the new commissioner designate to bring his wealth of experience to bear.

The New Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources designate, Timothy Ojoma, while speaking to the assembly press corp said he would ensure the introduction of small machine fabricated in china to replace the crude farm implements used by farmers in Kogi state.

While appreciating Governor Yahaya Bello for the opportunity to serve the people of the state and in his administration, Timothy Ojoma, said he would also ensure that the state attains food security.
