KOGI LGAs 2020 ELECTION : GROUPS WANT KABBA AS CHAIRMAN. ….. Says lopsided political appointments in Kabba/Bunu an aberration. Groups known as Kabba for Good Governance(KGG), Kabba Political Likes-mind (KPL) and Kabba in Unity (KU), has lend their voices calling on the Peoples Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the erudite and ebullient Chief of staff to His Excellency, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku, the Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Mathew Kolawole, the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, leaders of the ruling All Progress Congress (APC) in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, the good people of Kabba and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area to support the struggle for Kabba (Owe aspirant) to emerge as the next executive chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area in the forthcoming APC primary election and the Kogi State Local Government election. In a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the groups want the leaders of the APC in Kabba/Bunu to support the emergence of Kabba (Owe aspirant) as the next chairman of the Local Government Area. “We have watched the political situations in Kabba/Bunu with keen interest in the last five (5) years of the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and we have come to conclusion that Kabba, the headquarters of Kogi West and Kabba/Bunu LGA respectively have been completely marginalised. The development the groups described as “Aberration”. At the inception of the result oriented Governor of Kogi State, the Bunu axis which is the younger settlement to Kabba axis has gained 80%of the political appointments and benefits to include the Administrator of the Local Government which lasted for more than three and half years in office. After the dissolution of the Administrators, an SSA Security to Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello was put in place while the same Bunu are still the occupier of the position till date. The implication is that the same axis of the Local Government have been holding the position for almost five years now. The position of the Commissioner and Special Adviser which supposed to be shared among the two axis have only Bunus as the holders since the inception of the tenure of Governor Yahaya Bello. We also want to state emphatically that in the last two general elections of 2015 and 2019 respectively, Kabba gave the highest number of votes to the All Progressives Congress and could see no reason while Kabba is receiving this barbaric and satanic gift in return. Ordinarily and from the beginning of the Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area in history , it is no longer news that based on the population and strength of Kabba which has nine (9) wards is expected to get more political elected offices and appointments than the Bunus with 6 wards. It is totally unreasonable for the right thinking Bunu person/s to get the larger share than Kabba in the scheme of things. Today, this has turn to reality and the leaders of the party most especially from Kabba axis felt all is well. By implication, the Bunus have been occupying the number one position in the Local Government for over four (4) years and there is no justification for Bunus to contest for the forthcoming Local Government election. We are using this medium to appeal to all the stakeholders to come to the round table and cede the next position of the Chairman to Kabba axis for the sake of peace, unity and progress. As it stand today, Kabba axis has numbers of aspirants who are eminently qualified, well nurtured and politically oriented who will work assiduously if elected to take the Local Government to the highest level for her to redeem her lost glory. We are appealing to the delegates to vote massively for Kabba aspirant for the sake of love and oneness. In conclusion, we shall continue to study the political situation in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area as the state Independent Electoral Commission released date and time table for the forthcoming Local Government election. It is our believe that the master minders, the planers and the executioners would come together without any further delay and return back to the drawing board and do the needful. We will continue to fight our noble course until we get there. It is not over until we win. So help us God in our sincere fight for Chairmanship position to Kabba and to amend the lopsided appointments in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
