Following the successful conduct of the 4th Combined Convocation ceremonies of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja by the school management, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, Comrade Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege (known as Fancy by most people) has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the visitor of the school, Governor Yahaya Bello and Rector, Dr Usman Ogbo.
This was contained in a press statement signed and made available to journalists by Comrade Fancy who noted that the New Direction administration of Governor Yahaya Bello has tremendously transformed the state polytechnic from being a mere glorified secondary school to a real citadel of learning with a touch of excellence through the appointment of Dr. Usman Ogbo as Rector.
Comrade Fancy further added that Governor Yahaya Bello has truly demonstrated unquenchable, uncompromised love for quality education by revamping infrastructural facilities in Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba and building two more universities of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) and Kogi State University Kabba (KSUK) all within eight years of governance.
“Despite lean resources and amidst other challenges in all sectors of the state economy, Governor Yahaya Bello has prioritized educational development with heavy investment in the sector. His achievements in this specific regard will remain indelible in the annals of the history of Kogi State in years to come,” he stated.
He eulogized the Rector, Dr. Usman Ogbo for being a rare breed of academician, administrator and progressive leader who has the capacity and discipline to adequately utilize resources for the general good of all.
It would be recalled that Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja began a week-long convocation ceremony which climaxed yesterday at the Convocation Arena, Main Campus, Lokoja. The event featured lectures and exhibitions that attracted several dignitaries from all walks of life where a visitor of the school, Governor Yahaya Bello who paid glowing tribute to the Rector was given a merit award.
