Kwara State Government has confirmed the receipt of 12,058 bags of grains of maize, millet, and sorghum from the Federal Government.

A statement by Mrs Bola Olukoju,
Commissioner for Communications
Said: “The breakdowns of the 12,058 are: 7,042 of 50kg bags of maize; 2,916 of 50kg bags of millet; and 2,100 of 50kg bags of sorghum (which are still being received as at today).”

The state government also announced the receipt of 8,700 of 25kg bags of rice, according to a statement by the Commissioner for Communications Mrs Bola Olukoju.

The statement said the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Senator Abubakar Kyari will flag off the distribution of the grains in the state very soon — in manners that would follow the distribution template sent by the Federal Government.

It would be recalled that the state government has constantly supported the Kwara public to cope with the inconveniences that trailed the removal of fuel subsidy.
