Lokoja Local Government receives Farouk as the New DLG/HLGA As Fati Bows Out
The newly appointment Director of Local Government and Head of Local Government Administration Lokoja Local government,Engineer Yahaya Muhmmed Danladi Farouk, has commended Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state for the opportunity given him to serve as the Director of Local Government and Head of Administration.
The commendation was made during the handingover ceremony on Monday,by the outgoing DLG Hajiya Fati Abubakar to the new DLG, Engineer Danladi Yahaya Muhammad Farouk which took place at the local government Secretariat Lokoja.
The new Director of Local Government, Engineer Farouk while making his response said he’ll continued to adhere strictly with the implementation of policies and programmes of the state government ably led by Governor Yahaya Bello.
He however appealed to the Local government staffers on the need to support him in his new assignment
According to him,”I’ll operate an open door policy,we need your support and encouragement as I can’t do it alone”
He urged his co-contestants to the seat to forget their deferences and work together as one for the peace,progress and development of Lokoja Local Government Area.
“I bear no grudges against anybody let us come together as one to make Lokoja Local Government great as Wide consultation would be my watchwords” he said.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the out-going Director of Local Government, Hajiya Fati Abubakar said she is humbled by the encomiums being powered on her by the staff, Union leaders and HODS,she urged them to extend same to the new DLG and Head of Local Administration, Engineer Farouk Yahaya Muhmmed Danladi
” I want to use this opportunity to thanked all for the corporation you gave me during my 4 years at the helms of affairs as the Director of Lokoja Local Government Administration.
Like you always addressed me as ironlady,yes I am base on principle it paid to be honest by discharging your duty with truth through the right channel that was what guided me through”
Permit me to use the opportunity to thanked His Exellency Governor Yahaya Bello for the opportunity afforded me to serve my father land ,my appreciation to all our Royal fathers for their advise and corporation I thanked you all ” Fati concluded.

eulogised the outgoing DLG, Hajiya Fati Abubakar describing her as a mother to all with compassion, God fearing, humane, articulate, hardworking and above all, an exemplary and experienced administrator per excellence.
The union leaders who spoke separately during the brief handing over ceremony between the out-going and in-coming DLG, said the Local Government has never had it so good in the past 4 years as it had during the brief stay of Hajiya Fati Abubakar the Iron lady.
According to him: “Words cannot express our profound and heart-warming appreciation to you for the good works you did in Lokoja Local Government,youvey justified the confidence Gov Bello reposed in you.
You have justified the popular saying that it is not how long but how well,” Bala stated.
He assured the incoming DLG of the union readiness to work with him.
The brief and colourful event which took place at the council Secretariat has Chairman and members of Lokoja Forum of Patriots Alhaji Baba’ango Idris, APC Chairman Lokoja Local Government,Hon. Maikudi Bature, Education Secretary, Lokoja Local Government Hon. Abdulmalik and a host of others in attendance.
