What a great move to start a new year with. On the 5th of January 2024, it’s a day I’ll forever register in the tablet of my heart, it’s a day fortune smiled on me.
It’s a day I met for the first time a music *Giant* I adore so much with my heart, soul and spirit from childhood (the time I began to understand what’s music).
General Kollington Ayinla is the only musician I, my mother and my siblings can die for anytime any day.
Brief history on my reason for falling in love with GKA brand of music.
Around 1986/1987 when I was in my 6 to 7 years in age those we grew under them plays to our hearings all genres of musics such as Apala like Haruna Ishola and Ayinla omowura, Juju: Ebenezer Obey, KSA, Adawa super, Shina Peters, Segun Adewale), and Orlando Owoh, then come Fuji like Alhaji General Kollington Ayinla and his bosom friend Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, they play all these musicians’ records may be depending on their mood, but to my own surprise whenever they play my very General Kollington Ayinla I’ll sit down and listen to it to the end even if I was hungry before they put the plate on the turntable, I won’t be hungry again and from that age I started craming his songs in my head, even I knew his songs before knowing 123 or ABC and the love grew and still keep growing till forever comes.
Then when I started growing up, I began to see the difference between the two Fuji Zeniths, I could see a great qualities of leader in my General Kollington Ayinla which made me to fall in love more deeper in him and everything he stands for.
My meeting with the GKA yesterday was a great dream come true because it has been my childhood dream to meet him and I’m happy to have met him yesterday courtesy of Mr Aperun Lukman, Baba Aroge, our president and other fans.

Due to what some terrible rumor mongers are saying, I thought I was coming to meet a very aged/old, tired or weak musician.
But lo and behold I saw Baba Kebe walking agile, unaided around to meet us.
Joy filled my heart so much to the extent that my heart was smiling within me but trying not to smile out in other not cause distraction but I’m very sure the person beside me would notice this
Another joy that overwhelmed my heart is that no memory loss whatsoever, he was eating with us and his hand wasn’t shaking, his spoon didn’t fall off his hand, all these I was looking and within me I was thinking this is a great man, specially and rarely made by God Almighty.
Another great joy was that Baba is not short sighted neither is he partially sighted, to my surprise GKA stood up all by himself without being aided, without missing his steps, and even walking without wearing glasses at that age.
Baba I’ve loved you right from the beginning of my life but I love you more yesterday and my prayers to Almighty God the giver of life is that he should prolong your years in good health and wealth because I want to keep seeing you and hearing good news about you sir. Amen!
