New Year Felicitation by Rt. Hon. Comfort Nwuchola Egwaba: Member Representing Ibaji Constituency and The Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly.
My dear great people of Kogi State, and Ibaji Constituency, with a heart full of joy and happiness, I extend my warm New Year wishes to you all.
It’s time to put the past behind us and unite together to celebrate the New Year and a beautiful new dawn in Kogi in a couple of weeks away. I join you all in thanksgiving to the Almighty God who in his loving-kindness and mercy has kept us to the end of the year 2023 and the beginning of the year 2024.
It is a fact that 2023 had its trials and triumphs, ups and downs, glories and stories, but despite all of the pitfalls and the missteps, we had a perfect match to a path forward and thus we are superlatively thankful to God. It’s my prayer in earnest that as the year 2023 comes to an end, it also ends all the accompanied difficulties.
May the new year decorate our lives with the unfading smiles of success and happiness that we so deserve. Amen
To my able and capable leaders, His Excellency Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Governor-elect, The speaker, of Kogi State House of Assembly, and my distinguished colleagues in the House, thank you all for being there.
2024, is here again. We are bold enough to feed our faith and not give in to fear or despair amid our temporary challenges. What’s clear is for us to remain on course by not changing the goal but rather changing the approach and strategies toward attaining the set goals. I am convinced that we will achieve our goals in tandem with the aspirations of the New Direction of the State Government and the anticipated accomplishment of the next Government.
The vision for a fantastic Kogi State and Ibaji constituency remains unblemished, our lane is paved and the clock is ticking. Development is an ongoing process and the contest for greatness has no finish line. This is why is expected that everyone consolidates the existing deeds by the Government.
We can no longer keep going the way we have been. If we must move forward in 2024, we require honest reflection and a willingness to try something new with sincerity and purity of purpose.
It is with the desire for a new Ibaji constituency that we have adopted an agenda; setting a new Ibaji Conversation. An agenda with the aspiration of reinventing the status quo of the Ibaji Constituency for Progressive and Sustainable Development that will match our present realities. An agenda we ought to achieve through invention, innovation, and creativity.
The New Conversation proceedings are already in motion and we can attest to the fact that we are delivering on part of the agenda’s campaign promises in Ibaji Constituency.
It is pertinent to say that there is no more time for uncertainty or half-baked goals or solutions. It is time to right the wrongs of the past and put our constituency on the glorious path.
A very special thanks to my constituents who have been my pedestal of support over the years through their prayers and constructive criticism.
Relatedly, I beseech you all not to lose hope for there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The time to reap the benefits of our unalloyed support is close by. All hands must be on deck in the quest for a greater Kogi State in terms of governance and policy-making.
