Pray against COVID-19, Sheikh Awwal urges Muslims
An Islamic claric sheikh Muhammad Awwal ,has called on Muslims to use the spiritual opportunity provided by the holy month of Ramadan to pray for an end to the Coronavirus pandemic
Awwal made the call at the opening of this year Tafsir held at the Late Maiunguwa Nasidi Ahli-Sunnah Mosque on Monday in Lokoja .
He noted that this year’s Ramadan is observe at a time the world is battling to contain the coronavirus pandemic, hence the need for all to intensify prayers and seek Allah’s intervention against the plague.
He urged Muslims to continue to observe the standard safety guidelines and other protective measures against the pandemic such as, “avoiding mass gatherings, maintaining social distancing and personal hygiene while undertaking your daily routines, as I am optimistic that we will surely overcome the new challenges and emerge stronger.”
He pray for Allah protection against the pandemic and appealed to well meaning individuals in the society to assist the vunarables among the society at this crucial time.
