President Buhari grants Financial Autonomy to State Legislature

As part of efforts by the present administration to continue to do everything in strengthening the principles and practices of democracy and democratic governance in Nigeria, the Present, Muhammad Buhari has signed into law Executive Order for the implantation of Financial Autonomy of State Legislature and State Judiciary.
In his Tweet handle,the President said, ” Based on the power vested on me under section 5 of the 1999 Constitution ( as amended) I today signed into Law Order No 10 of 2020 for the implantation of Financial Autonomy of State Legislature and Judiciary ”
It will be recalled the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has equally signed into law the Bill granting Autonomy to the State Legislature.
Consequently Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission was constituted under the Chairmanship of Alhaji Andas Malik and Mrs Yemisi Maiye as the Secretary.
The Governor in ensuring its implementation , appointed Permanent Members for the Commission across the three Senatorial District s of the State.
.The Kogi State House of Assembly has over one year taken off with its Adminstrative office located at the State House of Assembly Complex,Lokoja.
