The Yagba West Local Government Authority in its efforts at achieving safe and secured society has announced the implementation of Kogi State Governor’s proactive measures towards ensuring safe and secured local government and to prevent crime and criminality within and around the local council Area and the state.
Announcing the implementation of the Governor’s directives on security measures after an expanded security meeting presided over by the Executive Chairman of Yagba West Council, Hon.(Chief) Pius Kolawole at the Council Secretariat today Friday, August 5th, the Chairman announced the ban of the use of Face Mask, Restriction of Motorcycles and Tricycles without registered plate numbers from operating within the Local Government, immediate closed down of illegal brothels and lodges.
It was also announced that the security council resolved that all Petroleum Filling Stations should no longer operate beyond 8pm daily.
It was further announced that all suspected criminal elements should be reported to the security agents and that where it is discovered that certain persons are conspiring with and harbouring people of questionable characters, such individuals and groups would be made to face the wrath of the law.
The Council Chairman assured the people of government effort to protect the lives and property of the citizens, calling on the people to cooperate with his administration because according to him, security is everybody’s business.
“I want to assure all residents and citizens of Yagba West and the general public that our local government is safe and secured for people to carry out their legitimate businesses”
“I advice all criminal elements and people with criminal intentions to immediately relocate from Yagba West and Kogi State in general as there is no hiding place for them in the length and breath of the state”.
The Chairman commended the efforts of the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for being fully in charge, and on top of the security situation in the state, doing all that is needful to keep Kogi safe.
The council boss assured the Governor, that the directives will be fully implemented in Yagba West.
Recall, that the council boss, Hon. Pius Kolawole has demonstrated enough capacity by taking the matter of security seriously.
The expanded Security Council meeting has in attendance, the Chairman of Yagba West Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ayodele Irukera and all traditional council members, Security Agents, Vice-Chairman and Secretary to Local Government, Hon. Eunice Balogun and Chief Kayode John respectively, Representative of Yagba West Hunters Association, leadership of Transport Workers Associations and other local Government top functionaries.
